Today my sweet sweet boy celebrates his 3rd and 1st Birthday with us. I am overwhelmed with the joy we are feeling... and saddened by the pain and grief his birth family must feel missing this event in his life. I wish they could see his happiness today.(side note this cake was made by one of my employees- isn't it AMAZING!!!)

I have tears running down my face as I have been catching up on the last several blog posts of yours I have missed. What a beautiful story forming in your family...complete with the ups and downs. Thanks for sharing both of those sides. I really hope you keep up your blog now that Shea is home. He is such a handsome little guy and looks like things are moving along well. :)
What a cake!!! And what a special day...I can just see the big smile he probably had on his face. The birthdays of our adopted children will probably always be a mixture of joy and sadness as we give thanks for these precious children but also remember their birth families...
